An Introduction to Nellie's English Projects

Greetings,

Welcome to Nellie's English Projects.

Nellie's English Projects is about meaningful learning. This is done both in the classroom and in the computer laboratory.

Some people think students should be sitting in a classroom, copying sentences from the board, writing in their notebooks or reading from books.  I believe learning should be relevant and engaging.  This site was developed to help you find meaning in your work.

You will learn to plan and complete relatively simple research projects and develop social and educational skills needed for planning more complex projects in the days to come.  By gathering, analyzing and processing information from various sources, you will learn to prepare and present well-focused reports, both spoken and written for a multi-tasked purposes and audiences.

Learning English as a Second Language can be as natural as learning a first. I believe a learner has to be actively engaged in natural experiential learning.

By means of web-based collaborative projects you will be actively engaged in  language learning.

The projects you will be working on are called WebQuests, which are generally prepared by teachers.

Learn English as you learn about other subjects. You will find a list of topics on the task page for high school, for junior high, elementary school, for adults and for teachers Browse through the list. I am sure you will find many interesting subjects to learn about.

Enjoy Nellie's English Projects and share your progress.  Sign my guestbook, visit my message board, chat with friends or write me.

Thank you for caring and sharing,

Nellie Deutsch
